Create Custom Running Routes

FakeMyRun lets you create custom running routes that look realistic on fitness tracking platforms like Strava and Runkeeper. You can either draw routes manually or use our shape templates.

Search for locations anywhere in the world to create your route
Create shape-based routes like hearts or circles with a single click
Snap routes to roads for more realistic paths that follow actual streets

Generate Realistic GPX Files

Once you've created your route, FakeMyRun generates a realistic GPX file with all the data that fitness platforms expect, including:

Accurate GPS coordinates that follow your custom route
Realistic elevation data based on actual terrain
Timestamps and pace data that match your specified running speed

How the Technology Works

FakeMyRun uses advanced mapping technology to create realistic running routes. When you draw a route or select a shape, our system:

Captures the GPS coordinates of your route
Snaps those coordinates to actual roads using mapping APIs
Adds realistic elevation data based on terrain information
Calculates timestamps based on your selected pace
Packages everything into a standard GPX file that fitness platforms can read

The Token System

Pay-Per-Download with Tokens

FakeMyRun uses a simple token system instead of requiring a subscription or account creation. Here's how it works:

Purchase tokens - €3.00 gets you 5 tokens (€0.60 per token)
Spend 1 token to download each GPX file
No subscription required - tokens never expire

Token Storage

By default, your tokens are stored locally in your browser. This means:

No account creation is required
Your tokens are available whenever you return to FakeMyRun on the same device
If you clear your browser data or switch devices, you'll need to use email synchronization (explained below) to recover your tokens

Email Synchronization

Link Tokens to Your Email

To ensure you never lose your tokens, you can link them to your email address. This allows you to:

Recover tokens if you switch devices or clear your browser data
Securely verify your email with a verification code
Access your tokens from any device

How Email Synchronization Works

Link your email - Click "Link Email" in the token management dropdown
Verify ownership - Enter the verification code sent to your email
Recover anytime - If you need to recover tokens on a new device, click "Recover Tokens" and verify your email again

Note: Verification codes are sent to your email address. Make sure to check your inbox (and spam folder) for the verification code.
